Usicri is operated by Raufi Communications (Monib Raufi), the provider named in our Legal Notice (“we”, “us”). Usicri is an online marketplace on which Brands publish campaigns asking for short-form videos and Creators submit videos to those campaigns. We provide the platform, the payment coordination and the tools described below; we are an intermediary.
The contract for a video is made between the Brand and the Creator. We are not a party to it, we do not employ, instruct or represent any Brand or Creator, and we do not promise that a Brand will approve a video or that a Creator will deliver one.
A Brand sets a payout amount per approved video and is charged that amount plus a platform fee of 0% on top. The Creator receives the full payout amount the Brand set; we deduct nothing from it.
Conclusion of the contract. Registration is free. By filling in the registration form, ticking the box for these Terms and the Privacy Policy and clicking “Create account”, you offer to enter into a contract with us for the use of Usicri on these Terms; the contract is concluded when we create your account. You can correct any entry in the registration form before you submit it, and afterwards in your account settings. These Terms are available on this page at any time, and you can print or save them from your browser; we record which version you accepted and when.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and able to enter into contracts. Usicri is intended for use in a business or self-employed capacity — as a Brand sourcing content for your business, or as a Creator providing a paid content-creation service — and not as a consumer acquiring goods or services for personal, family or household purposes.
Your account. Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Accounts are personal, one per person or business, and may not be transferred. Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account, and you should tell us promptly if you suspect misuse.
Brands are solely responsible for the content and legality of their campaign requests, including the accuracy of the product information they give and any claims they ask Creators to make. Creators are solely responsible for the content of the videos they submit. Every video a Creator submits must have been filmed by that Creator and must show real people; AI-generated or synthetic persons may not be presented as real. On each upload the Creator confirms this, and that they hold the rights described in Section 5, by ticking a declaration; Usicri records the time of each declaration.
A Brand states how many videos a campaign needs when it creates the campaign and may raise or lower that number later, but never below the number of videos it has already approved. Once that many videos are approved, the campaign no longer accepts new submissions. A campaign is shown to Creators once its Brand has saved a payment method (nothing is charged when a payment method is saved — see Section 6). Where a Brand offers a product for a campaign, the Brand and the Creator arrange its delivery directly; Usicri is not a party to that arrangement.
When a Brand approves a video, the Brand and the Creator have agreed on the production and delivery of that video on the terms of the campaign (the brief, and the payout amount shown when the video was submitted) and of these Terms, including the rights in Section 5. A Brand should review submissions promptly and may reject a video that does not meet the brief or these Terms. A Brand must not use a video it has rejected or has not paid for.
After a video has been approved, the Brand and the Creator can each rate the other from 1 to 5 stars. Ratings therefore only come from the other party to an approved video, one per video; the average is shown next to the Brand’s campaigns and the Creator’s submissions. We do not change ratings, and we remove one only if it breaches Section 8.
Videos made for a Brand in return for payment are usually advertising. Creators and Brands are each responsible for following the advertising rules that apply to them — in particular, paid promotions must be clearly identifiable as advertising (in Germany: § 5a (4) UWG), and the labelling tools and rules of the platform where a video is published must be used. Brands must give Creators accurate, lawful product information and must not ask for claims that are false or not allowed for the product (for example health or medical claims for cosmetics and personal-care products). Creators must not add claims the Brand has not supplied. We do not check videos or campaigns for compliance with advertising law before they are approved or published.
5.1 What the Creator promises. The Creator filmed the video, it shows real people, and the Creator holds all rights needed for the uses described in this Section — including for any music, images, brands and other third-party material in it — and every person recognisable in it has agreed to those uses.
5.2 Licence to the Brand. Once a Brand has approved a video and the payment for it has been collected, the Creator grants that Brand a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, without time limit, to use the video in all media and channels: to reproduce it, edit it (for example cut, crop, subtitle, add the Brand’s own logo or text), distribute it, publicly display it and make it available — including on the Brand’s websites, shops and social-media accounts, in e-mail and in paid advertising. The licence covers the Creator’s voice, image and name as they appear in the video, for the same uses. The Brand may let its agencies and advertising platforms use the video on its behalf, but may not otherwise sublicense or transfer the licence except together with the business or product line the campaign was for. The licence does not allow the Brand to (a) create synthetic replicas of the Creator’s voice or likeness or use the video to train AI models, or (b) use the video in a way that suggests the Creator endorses a product or brand other than the one the campaign was for. The Creator remains the owner of the video and may show it in their own portfolio and channels. The licence takes effect only on approval and payment — a rejected or unpaid video may not be used — and ends if the payment is reversed in full (for example after a successful card chargeback).
5.3 Licence to us. The Creator grants us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display the video and the Creator’s display name on Usicri — including in the public Discover feed and on campaign pages — and to use short excerpts and thumbnails of approved videos to promote Usicri. We do not sell or license videos to third parties and do not use them to train AI models. A Creator can ask us at any time, through the contact form or by email, to remove an approved video from public display, and we will do so within a reasonable time; the Brand’s licence under 5.2 is not affected.
6.1 Charging the Brand. A Brand’s card is charged when — and only when — it approves a video, for the payout amount plus the platform fee. By saving a payment method, the Brand authorises us, through Stripe, to charge that payment method for each video it approves (including when the Brand is not present at that moment), until it removes the payment method or closes its account. Nothing is charged when a payment method is saved or when a campaign is created. If a charge needs the card issuer’s confirmation (for example 3-D Secure), the video is approved once that has been completed.
6.2 How the money moves. Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. or another Stripe group company, depending on where you are); we are not a bank or a payment institution. The Brand’s payment of the total to us discharges its obligation to pay the payout amount to the Creator. The Creator authorises us to receive the payout amount for each approved video on the Creator’s behalf and to instruct Stripe to transfer it to the Creator’s connected Stripe account. We act only on that instruction: we pass the payout amount on in full and have no discretion over how much is paid or to whom, except as described in 6.4. To receive payouts a Creator connects a Stripe account; Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement applies to it, and Stripe may verify identity and accept, limit or refuse accounts under its own rules, for which we are not responsible.
6.3 Payout timing. Approved videos add up to a balance. Once it reaches the minimum payout of 20 USD, a transfer is issued automatically — there is no need to request it. Until a Creator has connected a working Stripe account, the amount stays reserved for that Creator.
6.4 Holds, reversals and disputes. We may delay or withhold a payout for as long as necessary while (a) a payment for the video is disputed, refunded or charged back; (b) we are looking into a well-founded report of illegal or infringing content, or a suspected breach of these Terms, concerning that video or account; or (c) the law requires it (see 7.3). We tell the user concerned why, as described in Section 9. A Brand that causes a chargeback, dispute fee or reversed payment must reimburse us for that amount and for any fees Stripe charges us for it. Disputes between a Brand and a Creator are for them to settle; on request we will try in good faith to help, but we are not obliged to decide them.
7.1 Taxes. Every user is responsible for their own taxes. The payout amount is the total price for the video; unless Brand and Creator agree otherwise in writing, it includes any VAT the Creator owes on it.
7.2 Invoices. We issue the Brand an invoice for the platform fee on each approved video, available in the Brand’s account under Invoices; it also lists the payout amount as a payment passed on to the Creator on the Creator’s behalf. At the time of writing we are a small business under § 19 of the German VAT Act and do not charge VAT on our fee. We do not issue invoices on behalf of Creators: each Creator is responsible for issuing whatever invoice the law requires to the Brand for the payout amount. On request we give the Creator the details of each approved video and payout (date, Brand, campaign, amount) that they need for this.
7.3 Legal reporting. Operators of platforms like this one can be legally required to collect information from users who earn money through the platform (for example name, address, date of birth and tax identification number) and to report it, together with the amounts paid, to the tax authorities — in Germany under the Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG), which implements EU Directive 2021/514 (“DAC7”). Where this applies to us, you agree to give us the information we ask for, and we may hold payouts until you have, as far as the law requires or allows.
8.1 Rules. Do not submit, publish or request anything that: is illegal or encourages illegal acts; infringes copyright, trademark, personality, privacy or other rights; is hateful, harassing or discriminatory or encourages violence; is sexually explicit or involves minors in any inappropriate way; or is misleading — including fake reviews or testimonials, AI-generated or synthetic persons presented as real people, or a video the Creator did not film. Do not use Usicri to spread malware or spam.
8.2 What we do. Every video is reviewed by the Brand before it is approved and paid; a Brand’s approval or rejection is its own decision, not a content-moderation decision by us. In addition, where Section 8.1 is breached or the law requires, we may hide a video from public display (Discover and campaign pages), remove or reject a submission, withhold payouts (Section 6.4), or suspend or terminate an account (Section 10). A simple automated check marks video captions that look like spam so that a person can look at them; it does not remove or block anything by itself, and decisions to restrict content or an account are made by a person, not solely by automated means. We apply these rules carefully, objectively and proportionately, with regard to the rights of everyone affected, including freedom of expression.
9.1 Reporting. Anyone — user or not — can report a video or campaign they consider illegal, or in breach of Section 8, using our report form (there is also a “Report” link next to each video on Discover). Please explain why you think the content is unlawful, give the exact link, your name and email address (not needed for reports of child sexual abuse material) and confirm that the report is made in good faith and is accurate and complete. This is our notice-and-action mechanism under Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act (“DSA”).
9.2 What happens next. We confirm that we have received the report, review it in a timely, diligent and non-arbitrary manner, and tell the person who made it, and the user concerned, what we decided and how it can be contested.
9.3 Statement of reasons. If we restrict a video or an account — hiding or removing content, withholding payouts, suspending or terminating an account — we send the user concerned a statement of reasons at the latest when the restriction takes effect (unless a law or authority prevents us). It says what we did and for how long; the facts and circumstances behind it and whether it followed a report or was our own decision; the legal or contractual ground; whether automated means were used; and how the decision can be contested.
9.4 Contesting a decision. You can contest any decision at any time by replying to the statement or writing to us through the contact form or at support@usicri.com; we look at it again and answer with reasons. You can also take the matter to court, and complain about how we comply with the DSA to the Digital Services Coordinator (in Germany, the Federal Network Agency).
9.5 Serious crime. If we become aware of information suggesting that a criminal offence involving a threat to someone’s life or safety has taken place, is taking place or is likely to take place, we promptly inform the competent authorities.
You can close your account at any time by contacting us; we close it within 30 days. Approved and paid videos, the licences in Section 5 and payouts already earned are not affected by closure (payouts are still made, subject to Section 6.4), and we keep data as described in the Privacy Policy.
We can end the contract by ordinary notice of 30 days. We can suspend an account, or end the contract with immediate effect, for good cause — in particular a serious or repeated breach of Section 8, fraud or abuse, non-payment by a Brand, or where the law requires it. Where a temporary suspension is enough, we use that first, and we reinstate the account as soon as the reason no longer applies. We give reasons as described in Section 9.3.
We aim to keep Usicri available but cannot promise uninterrupted operation; maintenance, security work or outages at providers such as Stripe can interrupt it. We may change or discontinue features for valid reasons, taking users’ reasonable interests into account.
We may change these Terms for a valid reason — for example a change in law or case law, a new or changed feature, security or abuse prevention, or a change in our payment provider’s requirements — by telling you at least 30 days in advance by email or in your account. The change applies from the date stated unless you object before then or close your account, and the notice will say so. Changes that only benefit users, or that a legal duty requires at once, may take effect immediately. A video that has already been approved stays under the Terms that applied when it was approved.
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect. For slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of a material contractual obligation — one whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible and on whose observance the user may regularly rely — and then only for the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. For loss of data, our liability is limited to the effort that regular, risk-appropriate backups by the user would have needed to restore it. Any further liability for slight negligence is excluded. This applies equally to our legal representatives, employees and vicarious agents.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for what Brands and Creators provide or for how they perform their agreements with each other (see Section 1). Statutory liability that cannot be limited by contract remains unaffected.
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If, contrary to Section 2, you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected. If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the courts at our place of business (see the Legal Notice) have jurisdiction; we may also bring proceedings at any other competent court.
Questions about these Terms, reports and requests: contact form or support@usicri.com. This is also our single point of contact for authorities (Article 11 DSA) and for users (Article 12 DSA). You can write to us in English or German; messages are read by people, not only by automated tools.
Usicri is provided for business and self-employed use (Section 2), so the statutory consumer right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to your use of the service. If, contrary to Section 2, you are acting as a consumer under the law that applies to you: by launching a campaign or submitting a video before any applicable withdrawal period has ended, you are expressly asking us to begin performing the service straight away, and you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once that service has been fully performed (e.g. once a campaign is live or a video has been reviewed).
These Terms are provided in English; if we offer a translation, the English text prevails. If a provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the rest stays in force and the statutory rules apply in place of the invalid provision. Terms a Brand sets for its own campaign cannot override these Terms.
